BASIC FUNCTION:
The Control Systems Engineer Intern will provide project assistance to Control Systems Engineers. This internship is a great opportunity to gain experience in manufacturing automation and maintenance. The intern will benefit from hands on exposure to PLC and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming. The Control Systems Engineer Intern will be exposed to a variety of instrumentation such as temperature sensors, flow meters, and level indicators. They will also work with a variety of process equipment including motors, drives, and burner, temperature, position, and speed controls. They will have the opportunity to be involved in the steel making process, as well as testing and research and development for new technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrollment in a 4 year degree program in Electrical/Control Engineering with a minimum of sophomore standing
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as a part of a team as well as independently
